Anant Ambani has joined the board of Jio Platforms as an additional director. He is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, chairman, Reliance Industries.

RS Sharma, chairman, TRAI’s tenure is scheduled to end September 30.

The Department of Telecommunications has started a fresh process to appoint a full-time chairman of Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL). Director–Projects. Rajiv Gupta, who retires July 2021, has been the interim chairman after the retirement of A Seshagiri Rao in September 2019.

V Ramesh, chief general manager (CGM), BSNL, has been appointed to the post of Director (Enterprise), BSNL. Ramesh has been appointed for a four-year term until his superannuation on July 31, 2024.

David Li has been appointed as CEO, Huawei Telecommunications India. He succeeds Jay Chen who has been promoted to handle Asia-Pacific level business role.

Pooja Jain has been appointed as chief financial officer, Bharti Infratel. Jain replaces S Balasubramanian. A chartered accountant, Jain has over 17 years of experience, including 11 years in Bharti Infratel and 3 years in Bharti Airtel.

Thierry Delaporte has been appointed as CEO and MD, Wipro Limited, effective July 6, 2020, as Abidali Z Neemuchwala has decided to step down from the position.

Anil Valluri has been appointed as senior director at Google. Valluri has last worked as president-India & board of directors of NetApp India Marketing & Services Pvt. Limited.

Ipsita Dasgupta has been appointed as country manager, India – Apple Services. Dasgupta was earlier president, strategy & new ventures – Hotstar International, Sports Leagues, The Walt Disney Company – Star India.

Tim McDonough has joined Intel as the vice president and general manager of marketing for consumer and business PCs. Prior to joining Intel, McDonough worked in organizations like Unity Technologies, Innovid, Forcepoint LLC, Qualcomm, and Microsoft.

Ni Fei has been appointed as president of mobile devices, ZTE Corporation. Ni Fei joined ZTE in 2001, and has been engaged in ZTE’s terminal product operation since 2004.

CB Velayuthan, former senior vice president, global sales, IP and optical networks at Nokia, has joined data center company, Equinix, as the global managing director, strategic alliances.

Marco Wirén has been appointed as chief financial officer of Nokia. Kristian Pullola, who served as CFO since January 2017, will step down and leave the Group Leadership Team on August 31, 2020.

Google has elevated Prabhakar Raghavan as the head of search and assistant in an organizational rejig that will see its search engine, advertising, and commerce business come under the same person.

Kevin Murphy has been appointed as the vice president and head of customer unit, Levant countries and global customer unit Ooredoo Group, Ericsson. Prior to his current role, Kevin held several senior sales roles including key account management assignments in Egypt, Indonesia, Oman, and Malaysia.

CHANGES IN THE BOARD

Ericsson’s board of directors has appointed Arun Bansal as executive vice president. Bansal is currently senior vice president and head of market area Europe and Latin America, a position he will remain in. Fredrik Jejdling, currently EVP and head of business area networks, will remain in this position.

Deepak M Satwalekar has been inducted in the Wipro board for five years. Satwalekar has been the managing director of HDFC Ltd. and subsequently the managing director and CEO of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Co. Ltd.
