Today Bharti Telecom launches India’s biggest bond sale of the fiscal

Bharti Telecom, the holding company of Bharti Airtel, is raising up to ₹10,500 crore today through bonds that mature in two years and three years and two months.

The issue features annual coupon rates of 7.35% for the shorter-tenor bonds and 7.45% for the longer tenor, which represents the company’s lowest fundraising cost in four years. Mutual funds are expected to be the main buyers, with additional demand from foreign and private banks.

The bonds have AAA ratings from CRISIL and CARE. Most proceeds will go toward refinancing existing debt—₹9,750 crore due in November and December 2025—with the rest supporting capital expenditure.

This is likely to set a record for the fiscal year, as corporate bond activity is rebounding with market conditions now more favorable for issuers.
