Appointed

Ankit Agarwal has been appointed as MD, STL, with immediate effect. Dr Anand Agarwal will be stepping down as CEO and Director of the company with effect from December 2, 2021. Ankit is a whole-time director and has been with the company since 2010, most recently as Chief Executive of the optical business.

STL has appointed Paolo Colella to its Advisory Council. Colella has held prominent senior executive positions, including India CEO and Head of Global Systems Integration Business at Ericsson. A former Ericsson executive, Paolo will work closely with the STL leadership team and its board of directors to advise the company on the strategic roadmap for its Network Services Business.

Paul Atkinson has been appointed as CEO, Optical Networking Business, STL. Prior to this, he was the MD and Group CEO at IXOM, Australia. Prior to IXOM, Paul was associated with the Prysmian for over 20 years as the CEO of affiliates and regions across the world.

Soumen Ray is joining Bharti Airtel as Chief Financial Officer with effect from December 2021. He takes over from Badal Bagri, who has decided to move on. He joins from Bajaj Auto Ltd., where he is currently the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this, he has held senior positions in finance and strategy at Viacom18, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, and Eveready Industries India.

Bharti Airtel has appointed Rajiv Sharma as Head of Investor Relations. Sharma takes over from Komal Sharan, who is moving to a new role within the Bharti group.

Parnil Urdhwareshe has joined Starlink as Market Access Director for India. Urdhwareshe has previously worked at AMD as Public Policy & Government Affairs Executive (India).

Mavenir has appointed Dipesh Rajan as Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific. Before joining Mavenir, Rajan served for nearly 15 years in key positions at Tata Communications.

Rajaneesh Kini has been appointed as Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at Cyient. Prior to this, Kini has worked at Cyient with over two decades of experience in engineering across various industry verticals, including Communications, Health, Industrial, and Tech Platforms.

Toshiba India Pvt. Ltd. (TIPL) has announced the appointment of Shuichi Ito as the new MD He succeeds Tomohiko Okada, who was at the helm of TIPL’s operations for more than five years.

Gulshan Verma has joined JioAds as CEO. Verma joins JioAds from Disney+ Hotstar where he was the SVP and Head, Advertising.

J Ramesh Kannan has been appointed as MD, Tamilnadu Telecommunications Ltd. He has 29 years of experience and was holding the post of General Manager (F&A) in TCIL for more than 4 years in addition as CFO of this company. He succeeds Sanjay Bharti Kumar, who had tendered his resignation on August 25, 2021.

Promoted

Bharti Airtel has promoted DTH enterprise head Sunil Taldar to the level of director (market operations). He succeeds COO Ajai Puri, set to retire at the end of December after a 17-year stint within the firm.

Elected

Rahul Vatts, Chief Regulatory Offcier, Bharti Airtel has been appointed as Vice Chairman and Jayant Patil, Senior Executive Vice President – Defence, L&T-NxT as Chairman of Indian Space Association (ISpA), the premier industry association of space and satellite companies launched on October 11. Lt Gen AK Bhatt has been appointed as Director General of the Association.

Pawan Kumar Goenka has been designated as the Chairperson of Indian National Space Promotion Authorization Centre (In-Space). Goenka retired as the MD and CEO, and Member of the Board of Directors of M&M Ltd. on April 2, 2021.
