Appointed
STL has appointed Praveen Cherian as CEO – Network Services Business. Prior to this, Mr Cherian was heading the Infrastructure Services Business for IBM across the South-Asia region.

At STL, Raman Venkatraman has joined as CEO for the company’s software business. Prior to joining STL, Raman was at TCS, where he was the Senior Vice President and Global Head for HiTech and Professional Services and the Global Head for Partnerships and Alliances.

Anupam Shrivastava has joined Mavcomm Advisory, a full-fledged public affairs and government relations organization. A 1981 batch of Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer, he was formerly the CMD of BSNL.

Vandana Sethi has been appointed as Advisor in Telecom Regulatory Authority of India initially for two years on a deputation basis.

She is presently Director (IR), Department of Telecommunications.

Arvind Kumar former senior advisor at Telecom Regulatory Authority of India since 2004 has joined Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) as director-general.

Subram Natarajan has joined Google Cloud as Director of Customer Engineering for India operations. Before joining Google Cloud, he led the technology team of IBM India as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for India.

KC Hsu has re-joined TSMC as Director at the company’s integrated interconnect and packaging department. He comes from Micron Technology as Company VP and Taiwan site leader.

Verizon Communications has appointed Manon Brouillette as Executive Vice President and CEO of Verizon Consumer Group effective January 1, 2022. She succeeds Ronan Dunne, who will take on the role of Strategic Advisor and will report directly to Hans Vestberg, Verizon Chairman and CEO.

Liang Rubo, CEO, TikTok has replaced Zhang Yiming as chairman. This is after ByteDance founder Yiming stepped down as chairman.
TIM’s board-appointed Pietro Labriola has been appointed as General Manager, TIM. He remains CEO of the subsidiary TIM S.A.

Paola Sapienza has been appointed as Lead Independent Director, after the resignation of Luigi Gubitosi, CEO and General Manager, TIM S.p.A.

Clubhouse has announced its first-ever hire in India by appointing Parijat Kaushik as head of partnerships for the country. Prior to joining Clubhouse, Kaushik led marketing efforts at TikTok and music streaming service Resso for the South-Asia region.

Philippe Carette has joined Inmarsat as the President of the company’s aviation business unit. He joins Inmarsat from Thales, where he held several roles including that of CEO Thales InFlyt Experience Business Line

Sanjay Baweja takes over as Managing Director & Global CEO of OnMobile Global. His last assignment was as Group President for the Bhartiya Group.

Parag Agrawal has been elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter after Jack Dorsey stepped down from the position. Agrawal had so far served as Twitter’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) after joining the company in 2011.

At Realme, Madhav Sheth has been promoted as President of the International Business Unit. He will now be fully responsible for the company’s overseas business operation, and report directly to the Founder and CEO of Realme, Sky Li.

At OnePlus, Navnit Nakra has been promoted to India CEO and Head of OnePlus India region. He was previously the company’s Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, and Head of Sales in India. As CEO, he will spearhead the company’s business operations and overall strategy for the India region.

At Nutanix, Faiz Shakir has been promoted as Managing Director of the company’s India business. He has been with the company for nearly six years and worked most recently as the company’s Enterprise and Commercial Sales Director covering the whole of India.

SK Telecom announced that Ryu Young-sang is the company’s new CEO. He was previously the President of MNO business and joined the company in 2000.

Ajit Mohan has been designated as the Managing Director of Meta India. He was the MD of Facebook India but in line with the change in the global brand, the entire India team and all departments now formally fall under Meta India.

Elected
The Space Data Association (SDA) has announced IntelSat’s Joe Chan as Executive Director. Joe is Director of Flight Dynamics (FDS) at IntelSat and succeeds Jean-Luc Froeliger representing Intelsat within the SDA.

Skit has appointed Dr Ashish Gupta as an independent member of its Board of Directors. He will be actively involved in helping Skit in all aspects of the business including organization building, product positioning, and go-to-market execution.

At Apple, Alex Gorsky has been elected to the company’s board of directors. Gorsky is the Chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson.

Reinstated
Ashish Joshi’s suspension has been revoked. Joshi is the Controller of Communication Accounts in Uttarakhand, Department of Telecommunications. Joshi was suspended on February 26, 2019, after he sought action against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kapil Mishra for allegedly circulating an incendiary video. DoT had suspended Joshi for misuse of the government letterhead in sending the complaint to the Delhi Police Commissioner. The department also pulled up Joshi for going beyond his jurisdiction and issuing orders to telecom operators to crack down on offensive messages.

Resigned
Chiang Shang-Yi has resigned as Vice-Chairman, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. A former research director at Taiwan’s TSMC, he had joined SMIC in late December.

At HCL Technologies, Darren Oberst, Senior Corporate Vice President of HCL Technologies’ software and products unit, has resigned from the company. He joined HCL Technologies as Head of Corporate Development in 2014 and moved to HCL Software in 2016.

At Apple, Ahn Soonho, the company’s global battery development chief, has moved to Volkswagon to lead the automaker’s development of electric vehicle batteries.

Issac Benbenisti, who was the CEO designate at NSO Group, has resigned. This comes days after the US blacklisted the company.

TikToK CEO, Shou Zi Chew, will step down as parent company ByteDance’s Chief Financial Officer to focus on running the short video platform full time.

At Intelsat, Steve Spengler will retire after nearly seven years as CEO. He has worked with the company for eighteen years.

Eutelsat Communication announced that CEO Rodolphe Belmer will step down at the beginning of 2022. Belmer will join Atos as its CEO.
