Irregularities in BSNL Employees’ Credit Cooperative Society funds

Hyderabad: After alleged irregularities in BSNL Employees’ Credit Cooperative Society (BECCS) came to light, Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has registered a criminal case.

Though the case was registered in April, it came to light on Sunday.

After an internal enquiry in BSNL, it was found that fixed deposits of the society were siphoned off by some suspects. In April, a complaint was lodged and a case was registered by CID. Police suspect that there was misappropriation of 7 crore.

The prime suspect, who reportedly committed suicide in his car nearly two years ago, was then secretary of the society. It is believed that the pressure to return the money to the society members might have led him to take the extreme step. SmallNews
