First space PSU Head’s job open for pvt sector

India’s first space PSU, New Space India Limited (NSIL), may soon be headed by a private sector honcho if the Department of Space (DoS) and the Centre find a suitable candidate. DoS has opened up the CMD’s post to those from the private sector. Candidates from central private sector enterprise, central government including armed forces and All India Services, state public sector enterprises (SPSE) or private company can apply.

The search cum selection committee (SCSC) will start shortlisting candidates from January 24.This panel has been empowered to include names of people who do not apply and also relax eligibility criteria to accommodate candidates it feels stand out for the position.. NSIL’s present CMD Radhakrishnan D, who was deputed from ISRO, can also apply for this position. NSIL is mandated to commercially exploit the R&D work by ISRO centres and units of DoS. Under the administrative control of DoS, the authorized and paid up capitals of NSIL are Rs 1000 crore and Rs 710 crore respectively. Indian Mandarins
