WhatsApp To Stop Working On These Phones

WhatsApp has ended support for some of the older phones starting today. While it has completely ceased support for Nokia S40 OS, it continues to support some other old OSes. While some of these will have full support, users of other OSes will no longer be able to do some important tasks like saving their WhatsApp chat history and more.

Here’s all you need to know about the phones WhatsApp has ended support for, the ones it still offers support to partially and the ones it fully supports.

The devices running on Nokia S40 OS include Nokia Asha 201, Nokia Asha 500, Nokia Asha 501, Nokia Asha 502, Nokia Asha 205, Nokia Asha 210, Nokia Asha 230, Nokia 208, Nokia 301, Nokia Asha 503, Nokia 515 and Nokia 206. Another platform that is no longer supported is Nokia Symbian S60.

The support for Android version 2.3.7, however, stays till February 1, 2020.

WhatsApp will, however, continue to support this OS until February 1, 2020.

WhatsApp has a ‘warning’ for users with devices running on these OSes: Because we’ll no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time.

Smartphones running on Android 2.1 (Eclair) and Android 2.2 (Froyo) too cannot run WhatsApp.― Gadgets Now
