Vodafone Spain data traffic up 25% on tourism revival

The Vodafone Spain network has registered a 25% increase in data traffic compared to the summer of 2021, an increase that has occurred both in large cities and in coastal and inland tourist areas.

The most used data applications were once again those of video streaming: TikTok, Facebook Video, YouTube, Netflix and Instagram.

Vodafone has made a significant effort to reinforce its 5G and 4G coverage in the main tourist spots in the country, and doubled the capacity in 1,000 beaches. Additionally, the network has remained stable during the summer months, thanks to the previously implemented optimization and capacity actions, with measures to improve the robustness of the network and continuous monitoring to quickly tackle any incident or problem.

The recovery of tourism has made possible both the increase in the use of the network by tourists who visit this country and customers roaming abroad. Tourist data traffic recorded a peak increase of 49% during the week of August 23-29 . Likewise, voice minutes taken by visitors increased by 53% .

On the other hand, for the seventh consecutive year, the Vodafone network was recognized as the best mobile network in Spain, according to an independent study carried out by umlaut.
