Vi declares inability to pay quarterly licence fees, writes to DoT
Cash-strapped Vodafone Idea has informed the telecom division that it will not be capable of pay quarterly licence fees (LF) and spectrum usage charges (SUC) for the second, third and fourth quarters of this fiscal 12 months totalling about ₹6,000 crore. It has sought permission to pay all these dues collectively, together with curiosity, in April-May 2022.
DoT is yet to take a call on the written request.
“Vi has knowledgeable the Division of Telecommunications (DoT) that it’ll make funds of LF and SUC for 3 quarters, collectively in April-May and if there are penalties imposed, will clear them as effectively,” said a senior industry executive aware of the development. Whileinews
