The auctions in Sweden in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz bands are concluded
Three bidders won licences in the 3.5 GHz band and one bidder won the entire 2.3 GHz band. The total auction proceeds amount to SEK 2 317 000 006. The auctions mean that conditions now exist for a broad 5G expansion in Sweden.
After one day of auction and four rounds, the auctions in the 3.5 GHz and 2.3 GHz bands are concluded. Four bidders won licences in the two frequency bands. The total auction proceeds amount to SEK 2 317 000 006, which goes to the treasury.
As these frequencies have now been awarded, there are conditions for strengthening the capacity for mobile broadband services and for the development of the Internet of Things in Sweden. The award will be central to the Swedish 5G development, says Dan Sjöblom, PTS’ Director-General.
