‘Thank You Himachal Pradesh’ Says Airtel As It Crosses 35 Lakh Mobile Customers Mark In The State

Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), India’s largest telecommunications service provider, today said that it has crossed the 35 lakh customers’ mark in Himachal Pradesh. With this, India’s fastest mobile network has further cemented its leadership position in the state.

In a recent development, over 54% of all RCom customers and over 59% of all Aircel customers in HP ported to Airtel, once again underlining Airtel’s position as the most preferred network in the state.

The company also announced a massive network expansion drive to further scale up its high speed data services across the state – aims to roll out over 6000 mobile sites by H1 of FY 18-19to considerably enhance the network experience for its customersby taking services deeper into rural and unconnected areas.

By H1 of FY 18-19, Airtel plans to add 2800 more 4G locations and this expansion shall be extensively backed by making 4G services to reach some of the toughest locations of the state.

Airtel has been consistently rated as the fastest mobile network in India. Ookla – the global leader in speed tests rated Airtel as India’s fastest network three times in a row (in Q3-Q4 2016, Q1–Q2 2017 and Q3-Q4 2017).

Special focus on Himachal Pradesh

Airtel continues to be the No.1 operator across Himachal Pradesh and is now trusted by over 35 lakh customers.
· With the aim of stepping up network capacity and taking services deeper into rural and unconnected areas, Airtel plans to roll out 5 new mobile sites per day across the state in H1 of FY 18-19, as part of its network transformation program – Project Leap. With this planned rollout, the number of Airtel’s mobile sites across HP will go up by 19% to 6000 by H1 of FY 18-19 and considerably enhance the network experience for customers
· Airtel also plans to deploy over 850 km of fresh optic fiber in the region. The addition of fresh fiber capacity will support the growth of high speed data services in the region
· Airtel was the first operator to launch 4G services in the state

Airtel is the only private operator offering mobile services on all technologies- 2G, 3G and 4G in the remotest locations of the HP. –  Punjab News Express
