Snap Power Connection Of Illegal Mobile Towers: Bawankule To MSEDCL

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSDECL) should snap the electricity connection of illegal mobile towers in the city. This was directed by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule in a Jan Samvad programme held at Dhantoli Zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Monday.

The residents of this zone raised the issues of cleanliness, sewage lines, and encroachments in the programme. Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Zone Chairperson Vishakha Bante, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Thakre, Standing Committee Chairman Virendra Kukreja, corporators Lata Kadgaye, Vijay Chutele, Vandana Bhagat were present on the dais. Around 60 complaints received in the Jan Samvad programme. The complaints related to Education, City Survey, NMC Town Planning Department, Health Department, Nazul, Property Tax department, and MSEDCL also discussed in the meeting.
Blasting NMC officials for illegal mobile towers in the city, Bawankule said, NMC should frame a policy for the regularisation of mobile towers in the city. The MSEDCL should obtain the permission of Assistant Municipal Commissioner regarding the legality of the mobile tower while providing electricity connection to it.

Later, the residents also lodged a complaint about the heap of garbage in their locality. The citizens of Nalanda Nagar, Dhadiwal Layout, Parvati Nagar are facing problem due to choking sewage line.

The people are compelled to drink contaminated water in these areas. The residents of Banerjee Layout and Mouza Babulkheda have demanded the construction of better quality roads in their areas. The residents also urged to repairs broken safety wall of Gandhi Sagar Lake. The problems of Model Mill encroachment, pathetic roads in Chinchbhuvan areas also discussed in the meeting. Guardian Minister said the local body will provide funds in every zone for the developmental works. The citizens should take benefits of the Government’s scheme, he urged.―The Hitavada
