Poco F1 Beats OnePlus 6, Becomes India’s No. 1 Smartphone Sold Online

With Poco F1, Xiaomi is breaking record ever since its launch. According to the latest report coming from IDC Research the Poco F1 is now India’s No 1 smartphone sold online in and above Rs 15,000. On Wednesday, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco India announced that its one and only phone aka Poco F1 has now achieved a new milestone as it has become the No 1 smartphone sold online in Q4 2018. The company announced the news via a tweet.

In the tweet, Poco India noted, “POCO Fans! We are proud to announce that, as per @IDC, POCO F1 is No.1 Smartphone in the online smartphone market of ?15k and above in Q4 2018. Thank you all for your amazing love and support.” Soon after the announcement Xiaomi India Managing Director, Manu Jain trolled OnePlus via another tweet. In the tweet Jain mentioned, “Now it’s settled! As per @IDC, #POCOF1 is India’s #1 Smartphone in online smartphone market of 15k & above. The Champion of Speed doesn’t settle for 2nd place. Nor should you!”

In the same tweet, Jain compares the Poco F1 with the OnePlus 6. He noted that in Q4 2019 the Poco F1 had a market share of 22.4 percent while in comparison the OnePlus 6 achieved a market share of 17.9 percent.

To celebrate the success of the Poco F1 the company recently reduced the price of the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model of the phone. The price of the phone was reduced for a limited period only. The offer ends on March 28. During the limited period offer the Poco F1 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model sells for Rs 20,999 on Mi.com and Flipkart — which Rs 2000 less than regular MOP.

Based on the consumer’s high demand, Poco F1 recently received the Game Turbo mode. “The all-new Game Turbo mode brings together a whole new level of experience by creating a dedicated gaming mode. Game Turbo mode enables smart allocation of CPU and GPU resources resulting in a fluid gaming experience,” Poco India noted in a media release.

Commenting on the same Manmohan Chandolu, General Manager, POCO India, said, “What started out as a promising dream has now become a successful reality. We designed POCO F1 by making product choices that assure unbelievable performance. With every feedback that we received, we refined the user experience, bringing innovations that truly matter. POCO F1 Evolved is a new experience in the same body, with features like Widevine L1 certification and Game Turbo mode. We are positive that our customers will immensely benefit from these innovative features and make the most of POCO F1.”

Meanwhile, some reports suggest that the Xiaomi sub-brand is working on the successor to the Poco F1 aka Poco F2 with Snapdragon 855 chipset. Poco is yet to confirm the Poco F2 launch.―Techwarf
