Open RAN India 2022 Hybrid Conference on June 16

Bharat Exhibitions is organizing its second successive edition of Open RAN India 2022 Hybrid Conference scheduled on June 16, 2022 at Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs. Communications Today is the exclusive media partner.

The conference is partnered by Red Hat, Mavenir, Wind River, Coredge, Hughes Systique, Anritsu, Khushi Communications, Syrotech. The event is supported by Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India and Broadband India Forum and TSDSI will supporting as Knowledge Partner and Standards Partner.

Open RAN India 2022 will be a dynamic forum for senior executives of leading telecom operators, enterprises, and govt. agencies to understand and formulate strategies to enhance the networks in line with business needs. Open RAN will definitely help the Atmanirbhar Bharat movement, and some companies have already started showing momentum in this regard.
For telecom players, it lowers CapEx and OpEx, brings in more efficiency and innovative solutions with quicker deployment of 5G. For software makers, it is an opportunity to build. Make in India solutions for the global market. For system integrators, it is a way of expanding their reach globally. Indian telecommunication companies will have to ensure cost-effective and early deployment of services as well as generate additional revenue streams to stay ahead of the curve.

Industry Speaks
“The focus for the Indian telecom operators for the last several years has been on optimizing costs across legacy networks, launching new services to maximize revenue without compromising on the customer experience. With 5G on the anvil, Indian operators are presented with a great opportunity to build next-generation software defined networks and choose the right technology architecture for scale, innovation and longevity. At Open RAN India 2022 Conference, we are looking forward to hearing diverse perspectives from operators, ecosystem partners and government authorities on the challenges, solutions and opportunities for success in India.

At Red Hat, we believe that the inflection for O-RAN will be primarily dependent on choosing a vision to build an open, disaggregated and fully interoperable platform. As an active member of O-RAN ALLIANCE and alongside our extensive partner ecosystem both local and global, we are supporting our customers to speed up innovation and collaboration to develop differentiated services, delivered quickly to monetize.

O-RAN has growing acceptance and steady adoption worldwide, O-RAN has a lot to look forward to, however, for ORAN to be truly effective, no single vendor can work in isolation. It calls for an ecosystem that’s agile and dynamic. This ecosystem should be flexible enough to continually expand, eventually forming an overarching ecosystem that will reap the full benefits of ORAN.”
Abhishek Shukla, Head of Sales – Telco, Media & Entertainment, Red Hat India & South Asia

“We are looking forward to re-connect with the telecom community in-person at Open RAN India 2022. This event also takes place in a timeframe where many communication service providers (CSPs) have completed their 5G trials in India. We’re expecting to have some interesting discussions around Open RAN and learn more about exciting innovations or development in the industry. Our focus points for the event would be to discuss the opportunities available for India’s 5G success when adopting a cloud-native, open and interoperable virtualized network.

We are extremely optimistic about the future of telecommunications, especially Open RAN in India. We believe in the value of open architecture and are working together with CSPs to create the right foundations for innovation and flexibility.

Mavenir is building the future of networks with cloud-native software that runs on any cloud and transforms the way the world connects, accelerating software network transformation for more than 250 CSPs and Enterprises in over 120 countries which serve more than 50% of the world’s subscribers.”
Narendra Rawat, Vice President-Technology, India & South Asia region, Mavenir

“A leader in the vRAN and Open RAN landscape, Wind River is unique in delivering mature production-ready offerings based on field-tested Wind River Studio technology that is live in deployment with global operators. Drawing from real-world experience, Wind River understands how to address the service provider’s complex challenges around deploying and managing a physically distributed, cloud native infrastructure.

Wind River Studio, which is a commercially deployed version of the open source StarlingX project, is a proven solution as it forms the foundation of virtual and Open RAN deployments at Verizon, Vodafone, Elisa, KDDI, NTT Docomo and more on the way. The StarlingX project is also very active in other open source and standards consortia such as the ORAN Alliance, where it provides the defacto platform.

Wind River has long had a local presence in India and sees great opportunity in the telecommunications market, particularly with the rising interest in virtual and Open RAN. We are continuing to invest in growing our presence to address this opportunity and look forward to joining the ORAN India 2022 conference, where we will share why, and how, we are the market leading Open RAN infrastructure provider in the world.”
Paul Miller, Chief Technology Officer, Wind River

“73 operators from 38 countries are either working on deploying or committed to adopting the Open RAN in their network and there will be more deployments in the next 5 years. Open RAN has captured the telecom industry’s attention with benefits at the global level. But simply disaggregating RAN software from purpose-built hardware is not going to help. There are considerations related to cloud-native RAN workload and lifecycle management. We are showcasing how we are solving this, and it will be interesting to see new innovations on that path in this edition of Open RAN India 2022.”
Arif Khan, CEO & Founder, Coredge
