MP is next destination for IT industry

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Indore will be the next big IT destination in the country, displacing other cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Cleanliness and better working conditions have generated a brand image for Indore that is appealing investors across all sectors, he said.

The Chief Minister said this during one-on-one meetings with leading industrialists and investors ahead of the Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit being held in Indore. During the meeting, Accenture India Chairperson Rekha Menon described Madhya Pradesh’s IT policy as useful and friendly towards the IT industry. Accenture had set up its shop in Indore only 6 months back, and it was mentioned at the event that the multinational IT firm plans to expand its operations in Madhya Pradesh.

Other top industrialists like Puneet Dalmia of Dalmia Bharat Group, Nadir Godrej of Godrej Industries, Pranav Adani of Adani Agro Oil & Gas, Noel Tata of Tata International, Sanjeev Puri of ITC Group, and Nikhil R Meswani of Reliance Industries were also part of the one-on-one meetings with Chief Minister Chouhan. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Manish Singh were also present.

Indore is already touted as the commercial capital of the central Indian state, and the ongoing investors’ summit is expected to bring in more investments to the city, as well as to the state. PTI
