Microsoft redesigns Skype with new themes, colour options

With new illustrations, animated emoticons, and a new loading experience, Microsoft has redesigned Skype yet again.

The new design also introduces performance improvements, reliability, and bug fixes.

“The theme colours have been updated from last year’s release and we’ve added additional colour options so you can choose your very own favourite colour on light and dark theme for Skype. These beautiful new vibrant colours can now be seen more prominently throughout the product,” Microsoft said in a blogpost.

Moreover, it has improved video call stability and performance by introducing a new mobile Skype calling experience and making some technical improvements.

Skype users can now have video calls daily for up to 24 hours with up to 100 people using this service.

Furthermore, this month’s upgrade to Skype included introducing a brand-new “Today” page. According to the startup, users can read and share personalised articles and news items from reputable sources across the globe without needing to subscribe.

The business also introduced real-time voice translation for Skype, which can now translate a person’s speech in real-time using artificial intelligence (AI) to make the translated voice sound similar to the original speaker. Techgig
