Intelsat to offer managed SD-WAN from Versa Networks

Intelsat, operator of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial network, is strengthening its global FlexEnterprise offering with a fully managed software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) service based on Versa Networks’ leading Secure SD-WAN solution, a component of Versa SASE.

FlexEnterprise connectivity-as-a-service leverages the world’s largest and most advanced integrated satellite fleet and ground infrastructure to enable service providers to extend the reach of enterprise networks quickly and cost-effectively.

The combination of Intelsat and Versa brings together the benefits of FlexEnterprise with the added security and performance features of Versa Secure SD-WAN. This enables service providers to combine satellite and terrestrial networks to deliver enterprise-grade network connectivity and services virtually anywhere users may be located.

“Customers can look at this as a ‘one plus one equals three’ opportunity,” said Brian Jakins, general manager and vice president of Intelsat’s Networks business unit. “Organizations have typically had to give up reliability and service levels when they look to lower-cost public internet or cellular networking. However, combining these access technologies with FlexEnterprise delivers private-network dependability to virtually everywhere enterprises do business. Intelsat’s Managed SD-WAN service leverages the individual benefits of each access network type and simplifies control of the overall solution.”

Tony Fallows, vice president, Service Providers at Versa Networks, adds, “Versa simplifies the integration of Intelsat’s satellite connectivity fabric and adds near-ubiquitous reach to our award-winning Versa SASE solution. Globally distributed organizations can now extend secure data center and cloud access to users around the world. We are pleased to be partnering with Intelsat to bring the benefits of Versa SASE and Versa Secure SD-WAN to users in more regions.”
