Infosys names Ashiss Kumar Dash CEO-designate; Q1 profit rises 12.2% YoY

Infosys has announced a leadership transition alongside its June quarter results, reporting steady financial growth even as it signalled a cautious outlook for FY27.

The company has appointed Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO-designate with immediate effect, following approval by its Board based on the Nomination and Remuneration Committee’s recommendation. He will take over as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director from April 1, 2027, succeeding Salil Parekh at the end of his current term, subject to statutory approvals. Infosys confirmed that Dash is not barred by any regulatory authority from holding a director’s position.

The announcement came as Infosys reported a 12.2 percent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 7,769 crore for the June quarter (Q1FY27), while revenue grew 14 percent to Rs 48,211 crore. Despite the growth, the company trimmed its full-year revenue guidance slightly to 1.5–3 percent, citing continued macroeconomic uncertainty.

CEO Salil Parekh said the company is seeing strong traction in artificial intelligence-led services, with AI initiatives increasingly translating into revenue and market share gains. He highlighted robust large deal wins and strategic partnerships with leading AI firms as key growth drivers.

CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka noted that Infosys maintained a resilient operating margin of 21.1 percent and strong cash generation, supported by disciplined execution. The company is continuing to invest in AI, talent, and platforms to drive long-term growth and productivity.

As part of employee-related developments, Infosys said salary hikes will be rolled out in two phases—primarily in October, with senior-level revisions in January. The Board also approved the grant of 9,836 Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to eligible new hires under its 2015 Incentive Compensation Plan, effective August 1, 2026, with a three-year vesting period.

Additionally, the company allotted 4,77,767 equity shares following the exercise of RSUs by employees under various stock ownership plans. Post allotment, Infosys’ issued and subscribed share capital has increased to Rs 20,29,02,82,985, comprising over 405.8 crore equity shares of Rs 5 each.
