Google May Bring More Affordable Pixel Smartphones In India In Future

Google has launched the ‘affordable’ version of the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL smartphones in India. And it is for the first time in three years that the company has launched mid-year affordable Pixel smartphones for fast-growing markets. However, if you think this is one of the search giant’s experiments to see how smartphones perform in the market, you might be wrong. The company has confirmed to Android Police that it plans to continue with the Pixel 3a series in future, which means more affordable Pixel phones every year.

With the new range of affordable Pixel smartphones, Google could make its presence felt in the upper-mid rage section in India where companies like OnePlus, Samsung and others are also fighting with their smartphones like OnePlus 7, Samsung Galaxy S10e and more.

What will be interesting to see are the features that the next-gen Pixel 3a smartphones will feature. A lot of the specifications and features could be an indicator of what the next-gen flagship Pixels will bring on board. There’s no concrete information on the next-gen devices yet.

To recall, Pixel 3a runs Android 9 Pie and will support Android Q later this year. It has a 5.6-inch FHD+ OLED display with 441ppi and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and Adreno 615. There’s also Google’s own Titan M security chip to enhance privacy and secure user data. You get a 12.2MP dual-Pixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture along with an 8MP front camera with f/2 aperture. It is backed by the 3000mAh battery.

The Pixel 3a XL has nearly the same set of specifications except for larger 6-inch screen size and 3700mAh battery. Both come with 18W fast charging and features like Active Edge or stereo speakers.―Gadgets Now
