Go 30, Beyond Possibility: Zyxel Celebrates Three Decades Of Innovation

Zyxel celebrates its 30th anniversary with an array of festivities at its headquarters in Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan. In the years since Zyxel’s 1989 inception, the enterprise has grown into a group of networking subsidiaries under the parent company Unizyx Holding Corp: Zyxel Communications, Zyxel Networks, MitraStar Technology, ZyFlex Technologies, and Ardomus Networks. All Unizyx employees will take part in the celebration, which follows the theme “Go 30, Beyond Possibility” and kicks off a series of product promotions and social media campaigns around the world.

Like the legendary garage startups of America’s Silicon Valley, Unizyx was born in a modest apartment in Taoyuan, Taiwan. In the summer of 1989, a time when the internet was still in its infancy, Dr. Shun-I Chu founded Zyxel, foreseeing the tremendous business opportunities in the networking market. Fueled by a passion for technological innovation and entrepreneurship, Dr. Chu created the world’s first three-in-one modem with integrated data, fax, and voice. The landmark technology, which was developed in just over two years, stunned the world.

For the last 30 years, Unizyx companies have made it a mission to continually expand their international scope. With world-class R&D and cutting-edge technology, as evidenced by a mastery of dial-up, fixed broadband, fiber broadband, and mobile broadband technologies, Unizyx has left an indelible imprint in 150 regional markets around the globe. Unizyx is the first company in Taiwan to successfully develop cloud networking (Nebula) and software-defined wide area network (Nebula SD-WAN) solutions, showing the world how Taiwanese network technology can help SMBs accelerate digital transformation. Additionally, the company has applied its technological expertise in the field of security, and is one of the few manufacturers in Taiwan capable of developing network firewalls and security services.
