Foundation laid for 4G mobile tower in Bastar

As part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, a foundation stone laying ceremony was held on Tuesday to install a 4G mobile tower in Sadrabodenar village in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district.

R.K. Garhwal, Deputy Director General (Compliance), DOT, Chhattisgarh, laid the foundation as part of a project of Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), Department of Telecom.

A large number of people of Sadrabodenar and neighbouring villages were present, an official communication said.

A total of 971 towers will be installed across 14 Naxalite affected districts of Chhattisgarh at a cost of Rs 848 crores.

The commissioning of 4G enabled mobile towers will add to Broadband penetration and help provide coverage to many villages and curb the digital divide.

Also, the mobile coverage in these Naxalite hit areas can be a game changer in tackling leftwing extremism. The Daily Pioneer
