DoT restores self-certification regime for selected products

In response to the telcos and ISPs request that TEC delays were causing havoc, DoT has moved routers, cordless phones, transmission terminal equipment and LAN switches and a few other products from the general certification scheme to a simplified certification scheme under the MTCTE regime.

Companies now may submit the self-certification of the products and no testing by TEC is mandatory. The TEC conducts routine checks on the products to test compliance will continue.
