Chinese AI Developers Roll Out Solutions To Tackle Outbreak

China-based AI developers Megvii and Sensetime are gearing up their development of AI solutions, eyeing the business opportunities in the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus.

Megvii’s AI heat sensor system has already been adopted by Beijing’s subway system at several major stations for detecting passengers with fever. The system’s facial recognition platform is able to track and locate the detected passengers and alarm the staff at the stations.

Sensetime has upgraded its SenseReality AI solution for the real estate market. The solution allows users to make appointment online for visits and is able to detect the visitors’ temperature and whether they have worn surgical masks.
