BSNL Launches Promotional Broadband Plan at Rs 995, Offers 200GB Data at 20 Mbps Speed

Keeping Kerala as its priority being a high-value circle for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the state-owned telco has launched a new broadband plan. The latest BSNL FIBRO BBG ULD 995 CS287 plan comes at the cost of Rs 995 and is only available for the subscribers of Kerala circle. Contrary to what people might expect, this plan comes with 20 Mbps speed and 200 GB FUP data, and it does not compete with service providers like ACT Fibernet or Bharti Airtel since BSNL has only launched this plan for promotional purposes. After the subscribers exhaust their FUP data, the speed of the internet will be throttled down to 2 Mbps. This broadband combo plan will be up for subscription 90 days from the launch.

To the disappointment of BSNL users, this plan does not offer impressive benefits which would make this combo worth subscribing. For the cost of Rs 995, the BSNL BBG ULD 995 CS287 broadband plan only provides 200 GB FUP data at 20 Mbps of speed and a post-FUP speed of 2 Mbps. This new offering by BSNL also remains limited only to the users of Ernakulam SSA of Kerala Circle which is again a considerable downside with this plan.

The highlight of this plan is the FUP benefit it offers. Normally, BSNL does not offer FUP of 200 GB with its broadband plans, but this plan is aimed at solving the issue. Additionally, the plan subscribers will also receive a free email ID with 1 GB of space. And yes, this plan does not offer any voice calling benefits, meaning you have to either subscribe to a landline plan or use the plan without any voice calling benefits.

Another thing worth noting is the telco will charge an installation amount of Rs 500 and a minimum hire period of one month applies to every new user. Existing users can also migrate to this plan. Lastly, BSNL is offering the BSNL BBG ULD 995 CS287 broadband on a long-term basis. Users can avail the plan for one year at Rs 10,945, two years at Rs 20,898 and for three years at Rs 29,850. – telecomtalk
