ASML eyes strategic India partnerships to power semiconductor mission

ASMLis exploring deeper collaborations with Indian companies as New Delhi accelerates its Semiconductor Mission under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The Dutch major is positioning itself as a long‑term partner for India’s emerging fabs, including those planned in Gujarat, even as it evaluates the scope for broader ecosystem engagement.

Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has highlighted ASML as a critical technology partner, with its tools expected to power upcoming wafer fabrication plants announced under India’s incentive schemes. Discussions currently centre on equipment supply, talent development and technical support rather than immediate large‑scale manufacturing investments. However, ASML’s stronger India focus is being read as a vote of confidence in the country’s semiconductor roadmap.
