Airtel to Lead in 10 circles, Vodafone Idea in 12 circles

Vodafone Idea will be the leading mobile service provider in 12 circles despite the merger between Idea Cellular and Vodafone India. Airtel will be heading in 10 circles and will be behind Reliance Jio in 3 circles.

Airtel will be the leading mobile operator in 10 telecom circles such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, North East, Orissa, Punjab and Rajasthan, TelecomLead.com analysis finds.

Vodafone Idea, the new entity, will be leading in 12 telecom circles including Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), U.P. (E) and U.P. (W) and West Bengal, according to the latest TRAI data for May 2018.
Reliance Jio will be in number two position in Haryana, Kerala and Mumbai and Airtel is behind Jio in these three circles.

BSNL will be the fourth largest operator in all telecom circles except Kerala, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh in India. BSNL is the second largest telecom operator in Kerala and Himachal Pradesh states. BSNL is in third position in Haryana.

BSNL does not have presence in Mumbai and Delhi. MTNL, the state-run mobile operator, has presence in Delhi and Mumbai.

Recently, Airtel India CEO Gopal Vittal said the merger between Idea Cellular and Vodafone will enhance the stability of Indian telecom sector.
