Aimtron secures pilot semiconductor manufacturing order worth up to $3.4M

Aimtron Electronics has secured a pilot Box-Build manufacturing order from a leading global semiconductor test solutions company, with a potential value of US$2.6 million to US$3.4 million if successfully qualified. The project highlights India’s growing strength in advanced electronics manufacturing as the global electronics market is expected to exceed US$1.8 trillion by 2032.

Pilot project strengthens India’s manufacturing capabilities
Aimtron Electronics Ltd has received a pilot Box-Build manufacturing order for a next-generation intelligent fibre network test and certification platform.

The project covers electronics assembly, mechanical integration, system-level testing and final product integration. It forms part of the customer’s strategy to diversify its manufacturing base, strengthen supply chain resilience and identify qualified manufacturing partners beyond its traditional production locations.

The engagement also carries the potential to create new employment opportunities in Vadodara, further supporting the city’s emergence as a centre for advanced electronics manufacturing.

Opportunity for long-term commercial production
The pilot programme has an estimated business potential of US$2.6 million to US$3.4 million upon successful qualification. Its main objective is to assess Aimtron’s manufacturing processes and quality systems for the customer’s new product platform.

If the programme is successfully completed and validated, Aimtron expects to be considered for larger commercial production opportunities in the future.

The order also reflects the growing role of Indian manufacturers in delivering integrated electronics systems beyond conventional Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), including complex Box-Build manufacturing that requires strict quality standards, component traceability and system-level integration.

Expansion plans support future growth
Commenting on the development, Nirmal Vasani, Global Chief Operating Officer, Aimtron Electronics Ltd, said, “Global customers are increasingly looking to diversify their manufacturing partnerships, and India is well positioned to support this transition. This pilot engagement reflects confidence in our manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and engineering expertise. Successful execution of the program will position us for potential long-term commercial production opportunities with the customer while further strengthening our presence in the global electronics manufacturing ecosystem.”

To meet rising demand for high-reliability electronics manufacturing, Aimtron is expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Vadodara and Bengaluru to support customers seeking value-added manufacturing solutions. Manufacturing Today India
