Twitter back up after being down for users across globe

Twitter suffered an outage on Sunday around 7 pm IST for users across the globe, including in India, before coming back to life after some time. Downdetector reported 2,838 outages in India, 64 per cent of which were on Twitter’s mobile application and 34 per cent on the website of the social media platform.

The outages come a day ahead of the relaunch of Twitter Blue on December 12. There has been no official confirmation of the cause of the outage.

“We’re relaunching @TwitterBlue on Monday – subscribe on web for $8/month or on iOS for $11/month to get access to subscriber-only features, including the blue checkmark,” the company said in a tweet earlier.

“When you subscribe you’ll get Edit Tweet, 1080p video uploads, reader mode, and a blue checkmark (after your account has been reviewed),” it added in another tweet.

Some users claimed that Twitter was down on some networks but worked as usual on other networks.
