USOF India organised a week long study tour for the Tanzanian delegation from UCSAF.
The concept of Universal and Meaningful connectivity is the core objective of the Universal Service Funds – a levy collected from telecom service providers to plug the digital divide. With the exponential advancements in Internet domain, the digital divide keeps catching up. The efforts to plug digital divide should be an continuous endeavour, covering the three dimensions of Quality Access, Reliable Coverage and Sufficient Skilling.
One major step towards achieving this is – Innovation and Capacity Building. India is taking the lead in sharing its expertise in connecting the unconnected and learning from the best practices across the world.
From its OFC projects to Mobile towers to Submarine cables to R&D funding, the USOF activities in India is diverse as well as in tune with the digital times.
