TRAI appoints BSNL’s Harinder Kumar as Secretary for two-year term
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has appointed Harinder Kumar, a senior executive of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited as its new Secretary for an initial tenure of two years.
According to an official communication issued on June 10, Kumar, an Indian Telecom Service (ITS) officer currently serving as Chief General Manager (CGMT) of BSNL’s Maharashtra circle, will join TRAI on deputation under foreign service terms.
The regulator, in its appointment order, said: “It has been decided to offer the post of Secretary in the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to Harinder Kumar, ITS, presently working as CGMT, BSNL, Maharashtra, on deputation on foreign service terms, initially for a period of two years.”
Kumar brings extensive experience in the telecom sector, having held several leadership roles in BSNL and the Department of Telecommunications over the course of his career.
