TIM Brasil, Vivo Ink Network Sharing Pact

TIM Brasil and Telefonica Brasil (Vivo) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will see them initiate discussions on a number of potential network sharing agreements. Ideas on the table include: 2G network sharing in single grid model; the establishment of a new 700MHz 4G infrastructure sharing set-up (initially targeting cities with less than 30,000 inhabitants); and other efficiency and cost reduction opportunities relating to operations and maintenance.

The two parties have stressed that the MoU does not create a joint venture (JV) or a formal business relationship, nor does it imply an exclusive relationship between the companies.―Tele Geography
