Reliance Jio Subscribers Now Getting Vowi-Fi In Select Areas After Airtel Introduces Similar Service

The war of the major telecom companies in India has truly been heating up in the past few months. From the revamped plans to services offered, it’s been a tight race between the three major telcos in India. Just a few days ago, we reported that Airtel had started rolling out its VoWi-Fi service dubbed Airtel Wi-fi calling in the Delhi NCR region with plans to make the service available in more Indian cities in the coming months.

Not to be outdone, Reliance Jio has seemingly rolled out their version of VoWi-fi service in the Nashik region in Maharashtra. According to a report on TelecomTalk, a Twitter user shared screenshots of the service. Just a note, the screenshots were taken from an Apple device, so take it for what it is. What this means is that Reliance are taking Airtel head-on with this service. We think that this service will only be able to work across Reliance Jio networks. – Digit
