Rajeev Karwal succumbs to COVID

Founder Chairman of Milagrow Robots, breathed his last May 12 morning. Karwal was on ventilator support for almost a week before he succumbed.

Rajeev founded Milagrow Robots in 2007. He had worked with LG, Philips, Electrolux, Reliance, Onida and Chellaram’s in India and abroad, when he decided to set out on his own.

An independent, forthright person, he was an innovator, a shaper and an effective manager. His adaptive nature and high nervous energy gave him success with startups, turnarounds as well as steady state organizations. He was highly valued at Onida where his team redefined the conventional marketing and sales rules at Onida. The devil as the mascot and the ‘Neighbour’s envy, Owner’s pride’ positioning sustains Onida even today. Way back in late 80s they pushed Onida to rollout innovative products like the FRP body washing machines.

In the 90s it was Health-focused products and positioning at LG. At the start of the millennium it was Battery-less radios at Philips and battery-operated Refrigerators at Electrolux, bringing great bottom-line benefits. He also set-up India’s largest electronics retail chain, Reliance Digital, as the founder President and CEO.

Rajeev was the President of the Consumer Electronics Association of India from 2000 to 2002 and also served at CII, FICCI etc, at the very apex.

At Milagrow, Rajeev brought India’s 1st Floor Robots, Pool Robots, Lawn Robots and Massaging Robots. They were amongst the 1st in the world to launch live mapping robots, air purification robots, home safety robots and Alexa-enabled robots.

“Ethics is something I never compromise,” he would say often.
