6G Horizons: Converging Technologies for a Connected Society

TSDSI organises an Annual TSDSI Technical Deep Dive (TTDD) Conference to bring together technocrats, researchers and standards experts from around the world to discuss topics related to global standardization activities as well as emerging and futuristic technology trends. The previous editions of the conference have been widely acclaimed for their choice of topics and high quality deliberations with expert speakers hailing from across the world.

You are invited to join the 6th edition of TSDSI’s Annual Flagship Conference– TSDSI Tech Deep Dive (TTDD) 2023, being held on 3-6 October 2023. Its theme is: “6G Horizons: Converging Technologies for a Connected Society”.

The “IMT2030 Framework” document has recently been approved as a Draft New Recommendation by ITU-R SG5. TSDSI and its members have submitted contributions to this document and to the ITU-R Future Technology Trends Report. We are presently engaged in technical studies covering a range of subjects related to 6G technology, including but not limited to Integrated Sensing and Communication, Integrated AI and Communication, Ubiquitous Connectivity, Waveforms, Qualitative KPIs, and Architecture.

With this backdrop, TTDD 2023 will deliberate on topics related to 6G Vision & Drivers, Convergence for Ubiquitous Connectivity, Emerging Technologies, Standardization Activities, “Open and Resilient” by Design, and Security.

Six (6) fully online Technical sessions, spread over 3-5 October will cover:

  • Usage scenarios and capabilities of the ITU framework on IMT-2030 and beyond, and expectation of emerging applications including those based on XR/VR from 6G.
  • Technologies for ubiquitous connectivity to bridge the digital divide and connect those who are still unconnected.
  • Enhanced radio interfaces and networks, waveform design, integrated sensing and communication etc.
  • Work going on in International SDOs like ITU, IEEE and 3GPP focusing on potential areas for 6G such as Integrated Sensing & Communication, Metaverse, Open RAN, AI/ML, Tera Hertz.
  • Resilience aspects – to withstand conditions such as susceptibility to environmental conditions due to high frequency, new and diffi¬cult to predict cyber threats due to open and deeper integrations, resource unpredictability due to dynamic and self-organizing network allocations.
  • Mechanisms to achieve enhanced levels of trustworthiness and privacy, over and above the security requirements in 6G from a use case and network deployment perspective, including RAN, IoT and Edge, Post Quantum Cryptography, and industry applications.

These will be followed by the conference theme session “Building a Sustainable future with 6G in India”, on 6th October. Sustainability has been recognized as a key design principle in the IMT2030 Framework document released by ITU-R WP5D. This session will discuss end to end energy efficiency, Lifecycle management of devices; Radio architectures to address lossy environments; Intelligence in Networks and at the Edge. It will be conducted in hybrid mode in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi and online over AIRMEET.

Key takeaways from the deliberations of the conference technical sessions will be presented in the valedictory session that will follow the theme session. TSDSI Awards for Outstanding Technical Contributions for the year 2022 will be given away immediately after the valedictory session.

An overview of Global Standards Development and the Role of TSDSI will also be conducted on this day, 06 October 2023, from 14:00-15:15 IST. This session will offer insights into the technical standards and reports that TSDSI has published, as well as an update on our ongoing technical initiatives.

A networking social reception will be held at the end of the conference, on 6th October evening from 1830 IST onwards.
