Zoho extends its apps to those fighting COVID-19 in India

Zoho Corp has extended its technology platform to government bodies, hospitals and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), to aid their fight against the deadly Covid-19 pandemic in India.

The company has also set up a dedicated helpline and a team to assist those who want to utilise Zoho’s platform to build a customised solution. Zoho said that it has worked with a few NGOs as well as government departments, including Tamil Nadu State Covid War Room, to develop technology solutions to manage their relief work.

Zoho’s team can build customised solutions using any of the company’s more than 50 apps, which will be made available for free for this purpose. Areas where Zoho will offer assistance include online and offline fund collection and raising of invoices. It will help with inventory management, including tracking the inventory of PPE kits, medical supplies, etc.

Volunteer and contact management—where the Zoho CRM is being offered—will be used to capture donor, volunteer or patient details, for real-time visibility into the operation. It is also offering data collection and help-desk solutions.

Tools for virtual assistance through chatbots, social media response management, video conferencing, data reporting and low-code applications are other solutions on offer.

“Zoho’s app is being used by volunteers at the Tamil Nadu Covid War Room to address covid-related requests and issues coming in through the 104 helpline,” said Health Officer Viduthalai Virumbi B. “The app is also being used to manage requests for oxygen, medicines and food. Even burial and cremation requests, and grief counselling is being managed using the app.”

The Zoho app is being deployed in phases to 50,000 volunteers working with the Tamil Nadu Covid War Room, Virumbi said. “Based on the requirement, we will scale the operation to 2 lakh volunteers.” 24HTech
