Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Launch Set for July 19, Company Confirms

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 after confirmation of a July launch, is all set to launch next week on Thursday, July 19, in China. The launch event date has been confirmed by Xiaomi in multiple official Weibo posts, and by the company’s global spokesperson on Twitter. While nothing has been made official about the features yet, previous leaks have suggested the presence of a massive 6.9-inch full-HD+ display on the upcoming phablet. The Mi Max 3 will succeed last year’s Xiaomi Mi Max 2 that came with a 6.44-inch display. The 18:9 display form factor on this year’s variant might help reduce the total real estate of the phone. India launch date is currently not known, but we could expect it to come to the country within weeks of the China launch.

Within days of revealing the retail box of the Mi Max 3, Xiaomi has gone ahead and announced the launch date for the smartphone on Weibo and Twitter. The post suggests that the phablet will arrive with a large display and a large battery, which is, by now, synonymous with the Mi Max brand. The event will be held at 7:30pm CST (5pm IST) on July 19.

Previous to these developments, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has been leaked on several platforms including TENAA and we have a fair idea around its specifications and design elements. While supposedly not sporting a display notch, the Mi Max 3 is expected to feature a fullscreen display with a possible 18:9 aspect ratio, vertically stacked dual rear cameras, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Let’s talk about what specifications we can expect on the smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 rumoured specifications

First things first, the phone is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo, optimistically based on the latest MIUI 10 ROM. It will sport a 6.9-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone will most likely be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with 3GB/ 4GB/ 6GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB of internal storage.

In the camera department, we can expect the Mi Max 3 to bear a primary 12-megapixel sensor at the back and another unknown secondary sensor. On the front, the phone is rumoured to get options of 5-megapixel and 8-megapixel selfie camera sensors. A 5400mAh battery might power the internals from underneath the hood. Gadgets 360
