Vi 5G trial use cases at IMC 2021

Sr. No Use Case Partner Description Technology / Applications
1 Public Safety L&T Smart World & Communication · This use case aims to demonstrate how 4K HD video cameras streaming through 5G network and integrated with a real-time analytics platform and AI capabilities can help improve public safety in our cities. Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (uRLLC) and Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC)
2 Smart and Connected Health L&T Smart World & Communication

· The 5G Smart & Connected Health demonstrated on an ambulance showcases how to utilise the golden time to commence diagnosis, get expert views and infrastructure ready at hospital for emergency procedures while the patient is en-route to hospital in an emergency.

· The technology enables the paramedic in the ambulance to establish video connect with the emergency doctor at the hospital. The doctor can study the body vitals and instruct the paramedic about the first aid or guide the ambulance to another medical facility, if required.

URLLC, and High Reliability and BW
3 Smart Construction Athonet · A Digital Twin is a virtual representation of a real-world entity or system which acts as a mirror to provide a means to simulate, predict, forecast behaviour, and possibly control the real-world entity where applicable.

· A Digital Twin of an under-construction tunnel has been created with 4K HD cameras placed at locations inside the construction site and integrated with the digital twin. This is then used for training of staff, monitoring of operations and remote supervision & expert guidance to personnel at site by remote teams.

Low latency and high bandwidth which are possible through 5G features like eMBB and uRLLC augmented by real-time VR & Artificial Intelligence based applications.
4 Connected Worker Athonet · This use case is to demonstrate a Smart Workplace to improve worker productivity, meet health, compliances and regulatory requirements, quicker emergency response & safe working conditions.

· Facemask compliance, track people movement to keep them out of no-go zones, counting people therefore preventing overcrowding.

· Video stream from multiple cameras installed on strategic locations in an office will be provided to a video analytics server.

· Realtime AI will identify human movement for health and safety compliance. This will identify compliance to using masks, helmets, machinery movement, zone restrictions, etc.

This use case is to showcase eMBB and uRLLC features of 5G technology.

Real time video analytics, notification feed, image quality

5 Aerial Traffic Management (UTM) Vizzbee Robotics Solution Pvt Ltd

·  This use case demonstrates the Public Safety and Law Enforcement application for ground personals and medical delivery and search and rescue operation using drones which are controlled through the 5G network and provide HD videos also on the 5G network. Remote management of UTM and high quality low latency video streaming over 5G. Real time video analytics and notifications.
6 Fully Body Motion Capture System solutions Tweek Labs · This use case monitors performance of athletes via IMU and sensors. With data streamed over the 5G network. It creates a self-contained system that transmits data to the cloud for analytics. Low latency connectivity from sensors to analytics engine for real-time Image processing, and analytics feedback through the 5G network to display device.
7 Driver Monitoring System Auto · This use case monitors driver’s alertness, condition in near real-time basis and the video feed enabling a command center personnel to deliver safety instructions or bring in intervention directly to driver to avert unwanted safety incident.

· With 5G it is possible for automotive OEMs to design such features and for consumers to access this cutting-edge technology inside passenger and commercial vehicles.

  1. High UL and DL throughput speed from Vi 5G
  2. Image processing, analytics and alerts from the edge & relayed real-time to operations center as well as to driver.

8 OTT Infotainment on the Go
Auto
· In this use case, the rear seat car experience gets a new fillip with 5G now enabling HD content streaming inside the car. It could be gaming, streaming of your favourite OTT content, sports feed etc.
  1. Low latency and High UL and DL Throughput speed
  2. High speed video download within the OTT application
9 Remote Diagnosis Ericsson · This use case showcases how 5G connectivity can enable access to healthcare in remote parts of the country.

· Based on the high data speed, low latency and reliability of 5G, a doctor located in an urban center can actually carry out an ultrasound scan on a patient who is in a remote rural location.

· This showcases the power of 5G to reach healthcare to remote parts of the country.

eMBB & uRLLC scenarios

Similar use cases can be used where in emergency services can be offered Network slicing on demand.

Additionally, eMBB and uRLLC features of 5G technology can be used to remotely diagnose patients and offer specialized services to the remote areas.

10 eMBB Ericsson · This use case demonstrates the Enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and fixed wireless access (FWA) applications with 5G.

· It demonstrates peak speeds across bands which leads to faster downloads, seamless streaming etc.

Fast speeds enrich the experiences of the consumers and allows users to explore high definition contents like 4K streaming videos, AR/VR contents
11 Network Slicing Nokia · This use case allows multiple networks to be created on top of a common shared physical network.

· It enables segmenting of the network into multiple “slice” for different services or use cases without needing to set up a new network.

· Each “slice” is an isolated end-to-end network that can be tailored to address different services with different requirements on speed, latency, and reliability, and can be adjusted to the requirements of its application, even in real time.

· This gives flexibility to host a diverse range of service requirements for various use cases over a single network, adapting, adding and configuring as needed.
