Vedanta look for suitable location for chip plant across 5 states

Vedanta Group has put multiple teams in position to survey suitable locations across five states to set up its semiconductor plant, according to a senior government official aware of the matter.

The company is surveying sites in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh, apart from Telangana.

Last month, Vedanta unveiled its plan to invest $8.4 billion in a chip manufacturing unit in partnership with Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn).
