TRAI extends comments submission deadline for OTT services consultation paper

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released a Consultation Paper addressing the ‘Regulatory Mechanism for Over-The-Top (OTT) Communication Services, and Selective Banning of OTT Services’. Initially, the last date for receiving written comments from stakeholders on the issues raised in the Consultation Paper was set as August 04, 2023, and for counter comments, it was set as August 18, 2023.

In response to requests from stakeholders for an extension of the submission deadline, TRAI has decided to extend the last date for written comments to August 18, 2023, and for counter comments to September 01, 2023.

The extension provides stakeholders with more time to thoroughly review the issues raised in the Consultation Paper and provide valuable inputs, ensuring a comprehensive and well-informed regulatory approach to OTT communication services and selective banning of OTT services in India.
