Some of the big themes at this year’s event include the network of the future, the Internet of Things, B2B growth opportunities, and generative AI. There is a special focus on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to rejuvenate the smartphone industry amidst a sales downturn. With an expected attendance of 95,000 and 2,400 exhibitors, the event aims to showcase AI-powered innovations that are shaping the future of mobile technology.

Phone makers are gearing up to introduce cutting-edge AI features into their latest devices, focusing on advanced photo editing, seamless online searching, and an improved user experience. This trend is expected to gain momentum at the event as more companies enter the space.

Telecom operators are also exploring the potential of AI to enhance operations, from bolstering security measures to delivering superior customer service. According to Forrester’s principal analyst Thomas Husson, the widespread integration of AI into devices and networks is driving innovation and fueling industry growth.

Beyond smartphones, MWC will feature a variety of connected devices including drones, robots, and even flying cars. Highlights include Alef Aeronautics’ innovative flying car prototype and TECNO mobile’s realistic robotic dog equipped with voice command recognition.
As industry players converge in Barcelona for MWC 2024, all eyes are on AI as a catalyst for innovation and growth in shaping the future of mobile technology in our increasingly interconnected world.
