APPOINTED
STL has strengthened its global market presence with the addition of Ashwini Bakshi as chief sales officer. In his new role, he will be part of the executive committee of the company. Prior to this, Bakshi was the managing director, head of region Europe & Africa, at Project Management Institute.

Bimal Dayal has joined Adani Transmission as chief executive officer. Prior to this, Dayal was MD & CEO, Indus Towers.

Tejinder Kalra, chief operating officer, and Vikas Poddar, chief financial officer, are jointly responsible for the functioning of Indus Towers under the guidance of the board and the chairman till the company appoints an MD & CEO.

Wipro Limited has announced the appointment of Dhruv Anand as country head and managing director for operations in Japan.

Common Service Centre Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC SPV) has appointed former IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Rakesh as its MD. Before joining CSC, Rakesh was additional chief secretary in Tripura. The appointment comes following the resignation of Dinesh Tyagi.

Sameer Garde, an independent director has been appointed as CEO, Capillary Technologies. Previously, Garde was the India president for networking technology company Cisco. He had moved out of that role in 2021 to work in the social sector and had joined Wadhwani AI. Current CEO and co-founder, Aneesh Reddy, will transition to the role of vice chairman and managing director.

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced the appointment of Mathew Thomas as country manager and managing director for India. Prior to this, Thomas worked at Ernst & Young LLP (EY), where he was part of the Digital & Technology Advisory leadership team. He succeeds Suprakash Chaudhuri.

Nokia has announced the appointment of Amy Hanlon-Rodemich as chief people officer and member of the group leadership team. Amy joins from GlobalLogic.

Verizon Business has named Sanjiv Gossain as group vice president and head of EMEA. Gossain succeeds Scott Lawrence, who will assume the role of senior vice president, Global Solutions.

Gary Lac has joined NEC Corporation of America as vice president of solutions. Before joining NEC, Lac led the solutions innovation organization at Idemia.

Dennis Woodside has joined Fresh­works Inc.’s executive leadership team as president. Woodside most recently served as president of Impossible Foods.

Cisco has appointed Sarah Rae Murphy to its board of directors. Murphy served in several executive roles during her 16 years at United Airlines, most recently as chief procurement officer and senior vice president of global sourcing.

Marvell has appointed Rebecca (Becky) House, senior vice president, chief people and legal officer, and secretary of Rockwell Automation, Inc., to its board of directors. House is also on the board of directors for FMI Funds, Inc., MIND Research Institute, and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).

HCLTech has restructured its top management by switching its leadership for key roles. VV Apparao, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will now take over as the chief delivery officer for nearshore. The nearshore refers to the strategy wherein the company outsources its processes or services to countries within the same continent and with a similar time zone that of the market it serves. The company’s previous HR Head for Americas and global GTM HR Leader Ramachandran Sundararajan has been appointed as the new chief people officer. Rahul Singh, who was president, global financial services business has been appointed as COO, corporate functions.

Sumati Sahgal has been appointed as Head of Tablets and Smart Devices for Lenovo India. In her last assignment with Lenovo, Sumati has been leading the Consumer VAS (Visuals, Accessories, and Services) business for the last 2 years.

Jason Child has been appointed as CFO, Arm Ltd. Prior to this, he was fi­nance chief, Splunk Inc. Child succeeds Inder Singh. Arm also announced the appointment of new Board members Karen Dykstra, former Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, AOL and Jeff Sine, co-Founder and Partner of Raine Group.

Signal has tapped Meredith Whittaker, a former adviser to the Federal Trade Commission chair and an artificial intelligence expert as its president.

Ravi Kumar S. is joining Cognizant as President Americas, from January 16, 2023. He had recently resigned as president, Infosys. Kumar has worked with Infosys for around 20 years and has served in various roles.

PROMOTED
Scott Petty, chief digital and infor­mation officer, Vodafone Group, has been promoted as chief technology officer. Petty has been working with the Vodafone Group since 2009. He suc­ceeds Johan Wibergh, who is retiring.

Michael Weening has been promoted as president and chief executive officer at Calix, Inc. He has been a member of the Calix leadership team for over six years.

RESIGNED
Florain Seiche, CEO, HMD Global OY, after a six-year stint has put in his papers. Seiche is a former co-founder of HTC’s branded smartphone business and global director of Orange Devices. Most recently he has been senior vice president at Nokia and Microsoft, responsible for the sales and marketing of mobile devices in the Europe Region. Seiche has a long history in the device world, having headed Orange’s global device unit in the early 2000s, along with spells with Siemens, Nokia, Microsoft, and HTC.

Nassib Abou-Khalil, chief legal officer, Nokia has stepped down from its Group Leadership Team. Esa Niinimäki, deputy chief legal officer, corporate and secretary to the board of directors, assumes the role of interim chief legal officer of Nokia. The recruitment process for his successor has begun.

NSO Group’s CEO Shalev Hulio has stepped down. COO Yaron Shohat will lead the Israeli company until the board appoints a new CEO.

Gregory Rabuel, CEO, Altice France, has been dismissed from his role after 13 years atthe company. Rabuel had been president of SFR and Altice France since July 2021. At Altice, Rabuel is replaced by the company’s head of media, Arthur Dreyfuss, and at SFR by Mathieu Cocq.
