Lycamobile Group announces executive appointments

Chris Tooley is appointed CEO of Lycamobile and will be responsible for the business in all of its 17 operating countries, to include expansion to further territories throughout 2014. He brings to the coveted position over 20 years of senior level experience – 10 of them spent within the Lycamobile Group – and is a highly respected figure within the industry.

The Group’s longstanding chief operating officer Premananthan Sivasamy will continue his eight year tenure at the company in the new role of Deputy Chairman of the Lycamobile Group. Reporting directly in to Group Chairman Allirajah Subaskaran – with whom he has shared a long and prosperous working relationship dating from the very beginnings of their careers – Sivasamy brings exceptional commercial and operational experience to his new role.

Speaking of the appointments, Lycamobile Group chairman, Allirajah Subaskaran said: “It is crucial to the future development of Lycamobile’s success that our management team is rich in experience and understanding of the business. I am confident that Chris’s extensive knowledge of both the mobile telecoms industry and Lycamobile itself will serve him brilliantly as the new CEO of our flagship brand.

I am delighted to announce Prem’s appointment to Deputy Chairman. He has been instrumental in our success and his deep knowledge of all our businesses will be vital in defining the future growth strategy for the Lycamobile Group.”

Premananthan Sivasamy said: “I am extremely proud of Lycamobile’s continued global success and it is an honour to be promoted to the role of Deputy Chairman. I am very much looking forward to working closer with Subas as we build on and strengthen the group’s portfolio.”

Chris Tooley added: “After many years at Lycamobile, I have been continually impressed with our ability to sustain growth – even in difficult economic times. I am privileged to have the opportunity to play a greater role in our development as we look to our next stage of international expansion.”
