Jio and Airtel top 5G speed charts in India

Reliance Jio has topped the chart with a 5G download speed of 306.3 Mbps in October 2023, according to a report by mobile analytics firm Opensignal. Airtel, on the other hand, led in terms of 5G upload speed with 225.3 Mbps.

The report also found that the overall 5G download speed in India was 131.4 Mbps in October, which is a significant increase from 50.2 Mbps in August 2023. This is due to the rapid rollout of 5G networks by telecom operators in India.

Jio also had the highest overall download speed in October, with 52.9 Mbps, followed by Airtel with 26.6 Mbps and Vodafone Idea with 19.4 Mbps.

In terms of 4G download speed, Jio was also the fastest with 28.3 Mbps, followed by Airtel with 15.2 Mbps and Vodafone Idea with 9.8 Mbps.

The Opensignal report is based on data collected from over 1 million devices in India between August 1 and October 31, 2023.

Analysis
The Opensignal report shows that Jio is leading the way in 5G deployment and performance in India. The company has been rapidly rolling out its 5G network across the country and has already achieved significant coverage.

Airtel is also making good progress with its 5G rollout, but it is still behind Jio in terms of coverage and performance. Vodafone Idea is lagging behind both Jio and Airtel in terms of 5G rollout and performance.

The report also shows that the overall 5G download speed in India has increased significantly in recent months. This is due to the rapid rollout of 5G networks by telecom operators.
