Interim Union Budget 2024 presented

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024, on February 1, an interim budget, just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The full-fledged budget will be presented by the new government that comes to power after the elections.

India’s capital spending for 2024-25 has been raised 11 per cent to ₹11.11 lakh crore, or 3.4 per cent of GDP. The minister said the tripling of capex in the last four years has resulted in a multiplier effect on economic growth and employment generation.

As per the Interim Budget documents, the Ministry of Communications has been allocated Rs 1.37 lakh crore in FY25.
