As Taiwan faces headwinds, can India attract fab investments
Foxconn is reportedly in talks with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co and TMH Group, Japan for setting up semiconductor fabrication units in India.
This is in the backdrop when Taiwan’s IT industry is facing its biggest slump on record, with the combined sales of 19 major companies down about 20% on the year in June, as the post-pandemic drop in demand for smartphones and computers hits component makers hard.
