Experts Comments On Microsoft-Jio Pact

The Microsoft-Jio pact announced by Reliance Industries is a landmark announcement. This 10-year long technology partnership with Microsoft for its subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm, will also include cloud-based solutions. Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft in his speech at Microsoft’s Future Decoded: Tech Summit in Bengaluru shared his views on the future developments on this partnership.

Anshuman Jaiswal, Principal, Digital Transformation at Kearney India has followed this business development and shared his thoughts below on what the pact stands for the fabric of digital transformation in India.

“It is interesting observation that gaming can become bigger than music, movies and TV shows put together – with billions of smart phones and 5G technology, choice of low cost subscription basis games can provide the convenient, and cheaper alternative for entertainment to billions of Indians. 10 year deal between Reliance Jio and Microsoft signifies importance of long term relationships and commitment to drive value and most importantly innovation – companies will look more and more to strike such long term cloud deals and it will be important for them to ensure continuous improvements in cloud technologies flow through in their products and service.
