Elisa Corporation and Moontalk Oy have signed an agreement under which Elisa takes a majority holding of Moontalk Oy stock, with Moontalk becoming a subsidiary of Elisa. The deal is currently awaiting approval from the competition authority as well as other conditions typical for the completion of a business transaction.
This deal supports the strategic goal of Elisa’s Corporate Business of being Finland’s most trusted partner for digitalising business processes. Elisa selected Moontalk as a target due to its strong, customer-centric application development expertise.
“Elisa is Finland’s leading player in corporate mobile services. Elisa’s goal is to develop new ways of creating value for its customers. By uniting Elisa’s strong know-how in corporate digitalisation with Moontalk’s application development expertise, we can develop even better services for our customers. Thanks to comprehensive 5G subscriptions, the speeds of mobile subscriptions are at an excellent level, and we want to continually provide our customers with more value through our solutions”, says Jorma Niemelä, VP for Connectivity Services at Elisa.
“Moontalk’s goal going forward is to be the fastest-growing player in the mobile communication service software market. Our collaboration with Elisa has been a significant enabler of our success, so joining forces can only strengthen our ability to grow and create value for our customers. As an Elisa subsidiary, Moontalk will have access to the skills of a pioneering teleoperator and software company to create value for customers”, comments Jussi Patopuro, CEO of Moontalk Oy.
