DIPA urges timely measures for smooth telecom operations during floods

Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA), an apex industry body of telecom infrastructure providers has written to the Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh seeking their timely support during the flood situation impacting districts in their respective states.

In order to ensure smooth telecom operations & 24*7 telecom connectivity during the ongoing Heavy Rainfall and floods affecting key districts in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, Digital Infrastructure Providers Association has requested for Unrestricted access to telecom personnel for accessing telecom sites, Availability of Diesel for telecom towers, Availability of Power, Cell on Wheels deployment and Contact details of dedicated Nodal Officers from Electricity Dept./DISCOMs, Home (Police), Petroleum who can be contacted for any support required for telecom infrastructure issues during the period.

T.R.Dua, Director-General, Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA), “We seek urgent support and intervention from the Chief Secretaries of the four states- Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh to ensure the availability of Telecom connectivity on 24*7 basis to meet the urgent disaster situation. All our IP’s members are proactive and have taken necessary steps to ensure connectivity 24/7 in the areas which have been affected by the ongoing flood and all the background arrangements like additional DG sets, battery banks, spare parts, stocking of diesel are taken care off.”

DIPA’s members includes leading companies in the telecom infrastructure sector i.e. ATC Telecom, Indus Towers, Tower Vision, Ascend Telecom, Summit Digitel, Sterlite Technologies, Space Tele Infra, Suyog Telematics, Signotox Towers Private Limited, Pratap Technocrats, iBus Infrastructure as well as energy solution companies like Applied Solar Technologies.
