BSNL revises postpaid mobile plans

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today announced rationalization of its GSM Postpaid Mobile Tariff with effect from 1st December 2020 on wards on PAN India basis. As per the latest information, BSNL has decided to launch new postpaid mobile plans ₹199, ₹798 & ₹999 with unlimited calls, data rollover facility and additional free family connections.

All the newly announced postpaid plans will offer unlimited voice calls and daily 100 free SMS to any network with data rollover facility. BSNL will be introducing data rollover facility in all postpaid mobile plans whereby existing as well as new customers can enjoy Data Rollover of Free Data up to 3 times the monthly data. The PSU has also decided to withdraw some of its existing Postpaid Mobile Plans – Plan 99, Plan 225, Plan 325, Plan 799 and Plan 1125 with effect from 01-12-2020 onwards.

BSNL authorities has decided the following under the GSM Postpaid Mobile Services as below:- (Tariff Revision is explained from A to L)

A) Withdrawal of the postpaid plans 99, 225, 325, 799 and 1125 w.e.f. 01-12-2020. The existing customers will remain in the closed plan till further order. No new connection to be allowed in corporate closed plans.

B) Data Rollover of Free Data up to 3 times the monthly data with all postpaid plans w.e.f. 01-12-2020.

C) Introduction of New postpaid plans of Plan199, Plan798 & Plan 999 w.e.f. 01-12-2020 as under:-

FUP:- Unlimited voice means 250min/day (local/STD/on-net/off-net) (HPLMN/ National roaming including MTNL network)( If a Customer using more than 250minutes outgoing minutes [(Local + STD + Outgoing Roaming) (On-net/Off-net) as per Unlimited recharge benefits] in a day will be charged at base plan tariff, after consumption of 250 minutes for the rest of the day till midnight 0.00hrs.”). This Plan is intended only for personal use of included services. BSNL reserves the right to discontinue the free Voice benefits offered as part of this Plan in case of misuse/ fraudulent use/ unauthorized telemarketing and commercial use. The voice/SMS benefits under the Plan cannot be used for outgoing calls/SMS to premium numbers, IN numbers, international numbers and other chargeable short codes; the subscriber will be charged applicable tariffs for the same.

D) Free Data rationalization with effect from 01-12-2020 for plan 399 to 70GB (Data rollover up-to 210GB allowed) & Plan 525 to 85GB (Data rollover up-to 255GB allowed).

E) Data freebies of all the plans except plan 1525 to be made limited plans with effect from 01-12-2020 with Data charges of Rs.10.24/GB beyond free data usage with all postpaid plans.

F) One additional Family SIM with Unlimited Voice facility with Plan-525 with no free data/SMS.

G) Offer Rs.25 as discount for 3 months to the customers of Plan 99/225/325 migrating to any higher plan. This offer is for the limited period of 90 days from the date of withdrawal of Plan 99/225/325.

H) Offer Rs.50 as discount for 3 months to the customers of Plan 799 migrating to any higher plan (999/1525). This offer is for the limited period of 90 days from the date of withdrawal of Plan 799.

I) All other postpaid plans for the retail customers working in circles are to be withdrawn with effect from 01-12-2020. Under postpaid GSM services, only six plans are allowed Plan199, plan 399, Plan525, plan 798, plan 999 and plan 1525 with effect from 01-12-2020. However, the existing customers of the circle’s closed plans will remain in the plan till further order. No new connection to be given in any circle’s closed postpaid plans.

J) Advance rental option: 11 month FMC for annual advance rental and 21 month FMC for the biennial advance rental for all postpaid plans.

K) Closure of all postpaid Data / Voice / SMS Add-Ons with effect from 01-12-2020.

L) Introduction of New Data ADD-ON with effect from 01-12-2020 as given below:-
 Rs.150- Free Data 40 GB
 Rs.250- Free Data 70GB

The above tariff will be applicable from 01-12-2020 on PAN India basis. The implementation of the tariff is to be made in accordance with 43rd Amendment of Telecom Tariff Order and orders / guidelines / clarifications issued by TRAI from time to time. KeralaTelecom
