Amazon to introduce advance coding, AI modules in 100 Karnataka schools

At least 13,000 students in 31 districts of the state are set to learn advanced coding and artificial intelligence (AI) modules as Amazon expands its Future Engineer programme to Karnataka.

In an official release, Amazon said students in classes 6 to 8 at 100 Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS) schools will benefit from the programme.

“This programme will complement the current courses in coding, logical sequencing, learning loops and block programmes offered to KREIS schools,” reads the release.

As explained by David Zapolski, senior vice president, Global Public Policy and General Counsel Amazon, the expansion is to solidify the commitment to provide equitable access to quality computer science education.

“We are excited to nurture the talents of students, regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds. This project-based learning module will empower students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a tech-driven world,” he said.

P Manivannan, principal secretary of the department of social welfare, said, “The programme’s integration of advanced coding and AI modules aligns seamlessly with our vision to empower our students with the proficiency required to navigate the increasingly tech-centric world.”
